I’m going to try to ease myself back into the great Thursday Doors tradition.
It’s been a very long time since my last Thursday Doors post, and you could be forgiven for thinking I’d forgotten about it altogether, but I’ve never stopped noticing and never stopped looking for interesting doors. It really didn’t take long for it to become second nature.
The photo I’m sharing this week is from the mechanic next to the boxing gym I go to. I took this some time last year when I was on my way to said boxing gym, and every time I walk past, I’m reminded that I need to make a post for this photo.
So here it is, so that I can stop reminding myself to post it, forgetting to post it, and then reminding myself again.
Admittedly, the windows are as much a feature in the photo as the door is, but I’m sure it was the door that caught my eye first.

Today is Australia Day. I’ve actually scheduled this post ahead of time because I’m expecting to be a bit busy that day (i.e. today). Not working though (surprisingly). I’ll be moving house soon, so I have to pack and make preparations and all that. Also need to think about packing for my upcoming holiday. It’s kind of weird trying to move house and go on holiday at the same time…
Anyway, all that’s probably something for another post (or several posts, depending on how well/badly that goes… The moving house part, of course. The holiday part is probably going to get more posts than anyone’d care to read, regardless of how well/badly it goes.) Continue reading
Feels like it’s been a long time since my last Thursday Doors post, and January and February are looking like they’ll be busy months, so I thought I’d get in quick with a short post.
My favourite colour is actually orange, but I like colour in general, particularly bright, bold colours. As such, I didn’t even try to suppress the smile that spread across my face when I found this shipping-container-esque stall and its shiny blue doors
Just unobtrusively parked in front of a hotel entrance…
I found it along Roma Street (inner Brisbane) one day when I was, coincidentally, wandering around aimlessly. I also thought, because of its name, this would be a good one to start off the new year.
I haven’t yet returned to find out what they do/sell when open, but I would guess street food or coffee or something along those lines. Actually, maybe it’s not even there any more…
