Today I watched ‘Black Swan’. It is seriously the most messed up movie I have ever seen in my life thus far. That’s not to say that it was a bad movie. From what I’ve seen/heard, it’s been getting great reviews, and I can understand why. Part of the reason why people like it is probably because it’s messed up.
I think it’s also another one of those things where it would be hard to think of a better ending – like with ‘The Old Curiosity Shop’ and ‘My Sister’s Keeper’. I suppose they were trying to leave as few unanswered questions as possible.
If you’re wondering whether or not to watch ‘Black Swan’, I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like the sight of blood or can’t handle psychological stuff (most people seem ok with one but not the other).
On a different note, I’ve noticed this tuft of grass growing out of the pavement on my way to the bus stop:
Usually grass and weeds grow in the cracks in cement or between pavers, but this tuft looks like it’s growing on top of the concrete – no cracks visible around it. On closer inspection, though, I think there is a little circle of cement that got removed somehow (maybe general wear because it is right in the middle of the footpath).
You might think there’s nothing interesting about some grass growing in a footpath, but I thought it was pretty cool because of its randomness (although it is pretty much precisely in the middle, surrounded by nothing but cement). And, you know, it shows that where there’s a will, there’s a way.
